What is Solar Grazing?

Put simply - vegetation management on solar sites, but with sheep instead of mowers or herbicides.

We currently offer this service in Clinton, Essex, Franklin, and St. Lawrence Counties of NY and are looking to expand. We can also travel to further counties as well as northern/central Vermont.

  • When on "rotation," our 200+ sheep are on-site 24/7.

  • Solar grazing has shown to have immense benefits for soil health, pollinator health, and overall biodiversity.

  • The sheep are moved frequently so they get the grass down to the appropriate height without overgrazing (to reduce the risk of erosion and keep the soil and vegetation healthy).

  • Solar grazing creates good PR for the solar company and farmer while contributing to greater food and energy independence.
